1. 두괄식 글쓰기를 하라.
  1.1 제목, 문장의 주어, 문단의 첫 문장, 논문의 초록
  1.2 독자가 흥미를 가지고 읽기 원하는 글쓰기를 하라.
  1.3 독자가 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 분명하게 말하라.
  1.4 간결하게 표현하라 - 선명, 정확, 단순한 언어

A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short or that he avoids all detail and treat his subject only in outline, but that every word tell." [William Strunk Jr. and E. B. White.   1.5 다양한 책을 많이 읽고 훌륭한 표현을 외우고 따라 쓰라.
